RMA Funding Opportunity Update
Commodity groups, non-profits, universities and colleges now have until 11:59 p.m. June 4 to submit applications for Risk Management Education and Outreach Partnerships Program funding, which this year is $3 million allocated across the nation. Here’s RMA Risk Management Specialist, Jo Lynne Seufer, to talk about different types of educational tools that might be utilized through the program.
SEUFER: It could be anything that that entity would propose. Workshops - let’s say throughout southern Washington state, to reach orchard and fruit growers about pest management and financial risk. It could be something online. It could be a brochure that’s educational. There’s a whole host of projects that an entity could propose. And it could be farm succession, you know, transferring a farm either through an estate - and we want to make sure that everyone has an estate plan in place - so it could be a workshop on developing an estate plan, or just a transition from father to a son or a daughter so that they can continue the farm.
And If you need more information...
SEUFER: Well, if anyone has any questions they can certainly call me here at the Spokane regional office at 1-800-205-9953. And again, ask for Jo Lynne.
Important reminder, applications must be done electronically through Grants.gov.
