4-6 SS Spring Trout MT

4-6 SS Spring Trout MT

Tom Dean is a completely self-taught artist from Great Falls, MT. He hand carves native trout, and other aquatic elements out of exotic woods. But he’s also an avid flyfisherman with an update:“The Browns are spawning right now on the Missouri River  up here. Actually my son and I went out on Sunday and we were not flyfishing we were just using spinners but the smallest one was 18 inches and the largest one was 26 ½ inches long. My son caught it and he got it up on shore and we were both dumbfounded. I haven’t seen a fish like that in so many years. The fishing has been excellent up here. The Missouri is fishing exceptionally well and the Sun River which comes out of the Rocky Mountain front is fishing really good right now. Springtime is a great time for around Great Falls, Montana. Creeks don’t open up until the 3rd weekend in May. For what browns and rainbows? Browns and rainbows. On the Sun River there are plenty of rainbows. River I have spoken with a lot of guys who have fished the Sun here in the last 3 to 4 weeks and they are saying you have to get out there. There are these huge pigs.
