Weather Causing Problems & New CSP Deadline

Weather Causing Problems & New CSP Deadline. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

Well old man winter finally came visiting the northwest and brought some much needed moisture. But! Power outages, traffic accidents, flooding and slides, Oh My! Over 110-thousand customers were without power in the Puget Sound area as workers scrambled to fix the problem. High waters have inundated rivers in Oregon and SW Washington. The body of a child was recovered from a car that had been swept away by flood waters in Albany, Oregon.

The latest round of Conservation Stewardship Program application rankings now has a new deadline. Jeff White of Natural Resources Conservation Service says the new deadline is January 27th.

WHITE: WIth the Conservation Stewardship Program we have a continuous application process. You can submit an application at any time but every so often we announce a batching date, a date where you can collect applications that have been submitted and those are the ones that will compete for funding in that funding cycle. The applicants will sit down with a local district conservationist and they will work through the conservation measurement tool. Based on the CMT, the ranking that it also provides will determine where that contract or that application falls in the contracting process.

Now here’s today’s Washington Grange report.
