Legends of Wine Event. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

Get ready for another legend of wine. The 2011 Legends of Wine event is coming up and promises to be another fabulous event honoring a member of the wine industry according to the Legends committee chairperson, Deb Heintz.

HEINTZ: The Legends event has been going on for the past 6 years and it is a recognition of a key person in the grape industry that has made a considerable contribution to the wine industry. And we have set this event as a way of honoring and recognizing that individual.

With the event only a few weeks away they are getting the word out that now is a great time to get your table.

HEINTZ: You can do that online or you can call the Clore Center office at 509-786-1000 and we’re looking to fill tables. You can sponsor a table or just buy individual tickets as well.

Heintz says they are taking advantage of another event going on at the same time.

HEINTZ: The event takes place on August 12. We are tying into the Prosser Wine and Food Fair on the following day, on Saturday but we would like to have an evening event take place on the grounds as well so we are going to be utilizing some of the same equipment that’s already set up for the wine and food fair.

They are also actively seeking sponsors for the event.
