The Precision Ag Institute

?

Farm and Ranch March 30, 2010 The goal of the Precision Ag Institute is to advance precision technology and its efficiency, stewardship and profitability on farms around the world. The institute was exhibiting at the recent Commodity Classic. Kim McCloskey is with the institute.www.precisionag.com

McCloskey: “The institute has been involved in this for a couple of years. But really the last couple of years have been our research, really building our case for advocacy. And now that we have done that research and we have the growers and we have the interviews, the videos, and the testimonials, this is really the first show that we are advocating this technology.”

At the Commodity Classic the Precision Ag Institute debuted its Guidance and Section Control Profit Calculator.

McCloskey: “It is actually a calculator on-line that growers can go to free and get on there and actually put in their individual farm information. The costs of their inputs, their acreage and actually get some general numbers on what their return on investment would be to start with guidance or section control.”

The calculator and much more information is available at the website

Among the growers at the institute’s booth promoting precision agriculture was Robert Blair of Idaho, a wheat grower who also started his own precision ag business, Pinecreek Precision.
