BASF's Headline

BASF's Headline

Since nobody in government seems to be making a stimulus package work, the good folks at BASF and their Headline product are stepping up to the plate. I’m David Sparks and I’ll tell you how you can hit one out of the park, next. Headline is a fungicide which protects against diseases in potatoes, cereals, sugar beets, corn and dry beans. BASF says their product also produces specific plant health in crops. For example, the company has data that show Headline controls Blackdot, early blight  and suppresses late blight in potatoes.  It also increases yield in quality and quantity.  BASF also claims that for Sugar beets, Headline controls powdery mildew and increases yield 1-2 tons per acre and increases sugar content from1/2 % to 1%, increases barley and wheat 6-12 bushels per acre and corn 12-25 bushels per acre. That should be great for Idaho.

Now here’s BASF Rep Ron Ellis with the stimulus package: We’ve implemented a campaign to assist the grower with his fungicide needs across all crops and it’s a February 15th deadline purchase to maximize a return for the grower of a $100/gal which he will receive back from BASF in the form of a check around October 22, 2010.”

Growers would need to contact their dealers by Feb 15th with desired volumes to capture the $100/gallon rebate.
