Wine & Travel

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran today we are going to talk about wine and travel.

Whenever I travel, whether it is to one of the world’s wine regions or a city that is new to me, I am always searching out good food and wine. Recently a couple of friends heard one of my shows talking about dining in Walla Walla Washington. They reminded me about a restaurant in Dayton Washington just down the road and a restaurant we enjoy Patit Creek. So that Friday we made reservations and took a ride through wheat country landing in the cozy little restaurant. The food was extraordinary. We started with stuffed dates as our appetizer oh my were they delicious, and moved on to the most delicate clam chowder, creamy but not pasty. My salad had lovely home grown mixed greens with a berry vinegar dressing so fragrant it was like perfume. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and I won’t spoil it for you by telling all about the sauce and preparation. The wine list is all about Washington wines and the staff is very helpful. If you are anywhere near Dayton Washington reserve a room at the Weinhart Hotel and reservations for dinner at Patit Creek. It is so worth the effort! Oh and if you are anything like us . . . you will probably go back the next day for lunch. Now they are not open every day of the week so plan accordingly. If you have an experience that you would like to share, email Linda at vine to wine dot net! Good travels, good times and good wine await us all, and thanks for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
