Small Business & Wine Workshops

Small Business & Wine Workshops. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

If you are a small business especially one in the wine industry you should consider attending a couple of workshops being presented by the Prosser Economic Development Association and Yakima Valley Community College.

BALL: The first seminar is “Long Term Marketing.” It’s focused on small businesses and looking at how they can market their company, new ways of doing businesses, doing social networking, creating what is really key which is the top of mind awareness’s and this is for all kinds of businesses.

That’s Trent Ball, Ag Program chair for YVCC. The second afternoon workshop is tailored more for wineries.

BALL: And it’s titled “Long Term Winery Customers = Long Term Sales” and in that workshop she’s going to address some stuff that is important to wineries which is direct marketing, one of them being wine clubs and then also how to create value adds which is an interesting spin. Rather than giving discounts, what can you give the customer that adds value to it rather than having to bring your price down.

Both workshops are being presented by Elizabeth Slater, internationally recognized within the wine industry.  If you hurry, Ball says you can save some off the registration fee.

BALL: The 12th, this coming Friday is the last opportunity for people to get in and get the discount but they can still register up until the day of which is June 18th.

For more information and to register for these two workshops visit yvcc.edu/wine.
