Economy Down on the Farm 1

Paul Kindinger is President and CEO of North American Equipment Dealers…a group that provides a variety of educational, financial and legislative services to agricultural equipment dealers in the United States and Canada. As such, he knows a great deal about the economy and I recently asked him to share some of his thoughts.

I’m just trying to make sense out of this very complicated economic picture.

(Kindinger) “Aren’t we all. Seems to be a lot of hesitancy and uncertainty that’s clouding the market right now. And what’s wrong his that we really don’t have the confidence between those lending institutions and a lot of the traditional indexes and so forth that they were pegged to are out of whack. We have got  situation where there’s been a lot of greed and it’s caused a lot of uncertainty and hesitancy in our economy and our economy is still dependant predominantly on consumer spending. Unfortunately there’s this awful cloud. We’ve got to talk ourselves back into having confidence.”

There’s nothing to fear but fear itself.

(Kindinger) “Right. And we’ve talked ourselves into a pretty good fear haven’t we!”
