The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) is disappointed that Proposition 12, which sets housing standards for breeding sows and restricts pork sales in California, failed to advance from the Senate Agriculture Committee. The vote was 10-11 against it. NPPC is working to address this issue in the current Congress, hoping for a reconsideration when the Senate reconvenes in September
