06/04/07 CHS planning petroleum terminal in Moses Lake

Washington Ag June 4, 2007 Cenex Harvest States says it's planning to construct a petroleum distribution terminal in Moses Lake, Washington that will be served by rail. John Traeger, Manager of Pipelines and Terminals for CHS, says currently CHS utilizes other terminals in the area which it does not own. He says the planned Moses Lake facility will provide a better ability to provide Cenex customers with fuel products. Traeger: "This facility will provide gasolines, premium and regular gasolines, diesel number 1 and number 2 diesel. Also some ethanol blended gasolines. We are also looking at the potential for biodiesel blends in the future." Traeger says they have yet to decide on a location for the distribution center so it is hard to say when the facility will be completed. CHS also announced it was constructing two new Montana petroleum terminals along the Yellowstone pipeline at Logan and Missoula, Montana. The Department of Labor and Industries continues to hold workshops for employers and others regarding outdoor heat related stress illness. An emergency heat stress rule takes affect this week. Workshops are being held June 8th in Wenatchee, June 11th in Yakima and June 19th in Spokane. Call 360-902-4622 to register and for location of sessions. I'm Bob Hoff.
