Washington Ag September 13, 2006 It's called the Sheep Extravaganza and it's scheduled for Saturday, October 7th in Clark Hall at Washington State University in Pullman. Sara Smith WSU Area Extension Animal Science Educator explains who should attend and what they will learn at this one-day event. Smith: "It is an educational opportunity for producers both youth and adults, managers, to learn different segments of the sheep industry. We are going to have a section on pasture and production and management. One on marketing lamb products and another for youth producers and individuals doing market lamb projects." Smith says there has been an increased interest in sheep in Washington. Smith: "Yes, actually Washington the last two years has seen an increase in the number of breeding sheep that are out there. We are also seeing an increase in our 4-H project lambs at some of our fairs too." The registration fee for the WSU Sheep Extravaganza is 35-dollars for the first participant and 15-dollars for each additional family, 4-H or FFA member for registrations post marked by September 20th. The price is higher at the door. More information and registration forms are available on the WSU Central Animal Agriculture web page under upcoming events. http://animalag.wsu.edu I'm Bob Hoff.
