After years of diligent service to the local Farm Bureau and the Coeur d'Alene area, Robert and Linda Ryder have received the highest honor from the Farm Bureau Federation, the President's Cup. David Sparks Idaho AG today with Linda, who reminisces about how they got going in the first place. Speaker2: Robert's folks bought this place in 1951, moved here in 52 from Blackfoot area. So they were Idahoans, but had chose to not do irrigated farming as it was back in the early 50s and chose to move to North Idaho. So they bought about 1000 acres at the time. And Rob and his brother and two sisters grew up here. So then as we got married and his siblings and us all got married at about the same time, and I think his sister was one of the sisters was the first ones that said, we always thought right here would be a really nice place for a house. They thought it was great that the kids would want to come back and live on the place, so they would write whatever was an easy legal description, and we didn't have the planning and zoning like we do now, so they could do this. So we all ended up being gifted 1015 acres of the place. So Rob sister lives over here and his brother lives down around the corner. And then we have this place again. Speaker1: Congratulations to Robert and Linda Ryder, who have received the highest honor from the Farm Bureau Federation, the President's Cup.
