Kevin catches a duck 1

Good friend Kevin Rasmussen is fishing for bass in a local lake. But I learned it was a lot more than just fishing for bass. I never caught a duck before. It's kind of embarrassing because it was Little Camas Reservoir. It was one of the last years they had it full. Me and my son. Within five minutes, each of us had caught a duck and it was like and these new people came and fished by us and they thought we were crazy because they just basically rolled up in their car and started fishing. And the whole time we were there, this duck kept swimming by on the surface and it must have something like a weight tied to its leg because every time I go across our lines, you could see it hit our lines. And so anyway, had those diving ducks, too. And so right when we got there, my son was like, Dad, I got something big. We're rolling this thing. The duck comes out of the water and he's got it by pretty much the mouth. So this thing bit onto his bait under the water. And so he's reeling this thing in. And so now I have this duck on the side of the shore. They're trying to get the hook out of his mouth. These people just showed up and they're looking at me. So I get the hook out and let the thing go and it flies away. Not less than five minutes later, I cast in, and then that duck goes across my line, the one that has like a weight tied to its leg, like a six foot leader to a weight. And that thing goes across my line and literally gets tangled in my line. So now I'm reeling it in. Now I'm reeling a duck in backwards and it's flapping the other way, and I have it by the legs. And I'm like, Oh, no, these people are staring at me. So I pulled all the way into shore there, but it had line tangled all the way around both of its legs. So we sat there for a while and had to cut it all off its legs there for a while. We let it go and it flew off. Flew off into the annals of this actually happened.
