In the ever-innovative agricultural sector, most U.S. row-crop farmers say they are aware of agricultural “biologicals.” Early adopters actively using the natural inputs on their crops rated them positively, according to topline results of a benchmark study released by Stratovation Group.
Cam Camfield, Stratovation Group CEO, explains the results.
Camfield… “We found that about 83 percent of farmers are aware of agricultural biologicals, just slightly less than that about 75 percent are familiar with the term agricultural microbial. So, study really dove deep into who's aware of those types of products, who are using them, and then what is their past and future use and intent.”
The Fertilizer Institute, the Agricultural Retailers Association and DCLRS, a bipartisan government relations firm, were strategic partners with Stratovation Group for the project.
Camfield… “There's a lot of folks that are looking to agriculture to solve a number of really big problems, carbon and a number of other things, and biologicals can absolutely help and be a part of that broader equation. Really, as we look at it, there's an opportunity in the market for additional education and really proving that efficacy to help drive further adoption, but I think those stories we're seeing are easier to tell and there's more and more of them. So, we're looking at really positive trend lines for the future of biologicals.”
More than a third of the farmers, those reporting they were currently active users of biologicals on their crops, rated them positively, giving them a score of 7.14 out of 10.
