“Corn for grain production at the US level was estimated at 13.7 billion bushels, and that was down 9%. From 2021. The average yield in the US was 173.3 bushels 3.4 bushels per acre below the record high that was set in 2021. And that record high was 176.7 bushels

As for sorghum and proso, millet…
“Sorghum for grain production at the US was estimated at 188 million bushels, which was down 58%. From the prior year, grain yield was estimated at 41.1 bushels per acre, down 27.9 bushels per acre from 2021 production of personal millet and 2022 at the US was 9.4 million bushels, which was down 39% from the previous year.”
When it comes to the hay numbers, Ott says you can see the effects of the drought
“Production of all dry hay in 2022 was estimated at 112.8 million tonnes down 6%. from 2021. Production of alfalfa and alfalfa hay was estimated at 48.8 million tonnes down 3% and production of all other hay was down 9% To 64.8 million tonnes.
Additionally, Ott says the data for all hay stored on farms as December 1 came in lower.
