Juneau Fishing

Everything in life is relative. My friend Chad Hood tells the fishing story which is kind of every day for him but would be a fantasy for most of us. “We went out halibut fishing in Juneau one day and I kept all my GPS spots so we went to one of my favorite halibut holes. We had four of us and we limited out on eight fish. We didn't get any big ones, I think the biggest was 25 pounds but it was a nice day out on the water and the fish were biting pretty good. We didn’t get any of the big ones we were hoping for so that is the halibut end of things. There is a king fishery in Juneau, these are hatchery kings but they still taste as good. We were using a bobber and tiered Salmon eggs underneath the bobber and it was where a creek flows into saltwater. When the tide is right, the Kings will nose up into the estuaries and we throw out the bobber and the eggs and let it drift through there. In three days, between three of us, we landed 13 or 14 adult kings which would be anything over 15 pounds and then we caught a bunch of Jack Kings, they come back a little too early so they are not fully grown.
