Beef Exports Surprisingly Stronger

This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Friday. Export sales in the Beef Market were surprisingly better yesterday, but will it be enough to keep the market headed in the right direction? Let’s go to Ted Seifried with the CME Group to hear more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. closed the day Dn 7, to finish at 8-96 ¼. Dec Corn was Dn 1, to finish the day at 6-69 ½. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. were Dn 9 ¼, to settle at 9-66 ¾.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 9-20 to 10-10. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Nov. were Unch, ranging from 9-22 to 9-63. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Nov. were Dn 9 ¼, ranging from 10-86 ¾ to 11-16 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Nov. were Dn 06 ½, ranging from 10-46 to 10-66.

Live Cattle for Dec. were Up $1.50, closing at 147.77 ½. Nov. Feeder Cattle were Up $2.55, to finish the day at 177.82 ½. Oct. Class III milk was Up $.09, to settle at 21.94.
