It’s unclear at this point whether the man was an archer, bowhunter, or just a crazy fool doing the best he could with what he had. Regardless, he managed to commandeer a car with nothing more than a bow and arrow. Despite his criminal efforts, his old-school approach to weaponry is impressive.

Who seriously allows themselves to be carjacked by a dude with a bow?

That’s the first question that comes to mind for many of us. But in this case, it happened.

The incident occurred recently in San Diego, California, on Interstate 8 in the College Area.

“Just after 8 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to eastbound I-8 west of Waring Road after receiving calls about a male pedestrian on the freeway,” CHP spokesman Jesse Matias said. After receiving additional calls, CHP learned that a pedestrian had been pointing a bow and arrow at a vehicle that was on the shoulder of the freeway in the area.

Reports say that a driver in a Toyota Highlander SUV had been attacked and carjacked by the pedestrian, according to Matias. The victim was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was later detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Campo Border Patrol Checkpoint. Matias said the man was arrested by CHP officers and booked into San Diego Central Jail.
