Zane Garner

Hi, my name is Zane Garner, along with my wife, Jacqueline, and my son, Carl own and operate Six Ranch LLC, we've been running the cows since spring 2017 always on rented property, never having the cows. Most of the horses were always, always out somewhere else. So when we got the opportunity on this place this spring, it was it was really a good chance to jump in and have a landing pad and make make our lives a little bit easier. I think at the end of the day, what it comes down to is I'm a very driven, motivated person. I like to be outside. I I like doing chores in the morning. I like having a reason to get up and go outside and do something. I like being able to to see what I did in a day. It's nice to go out and work with a horse or brand, a set of calves or ride through your cows and and see tangible, tangible accomplishments and the long hours and the hard work and the fence and putting up hay and and it all. It just it comes back to. That's what makes me feel good. So I got started with the Farm Bureau in the spring of twenty twenty. Bob actually approached me about becoming a board member, and I said, Well, Bob, what's Farm Bureau do? I hadn't really heard a whole lot about it at that point, and he's like, Well, you know, we've got the insurance side and and then there's the the federation side, and it's a good opportunity to start with to network with other farmers in your local area and then obviously across the state and across the nation, just give you a chance to make some connections and befriend some like minded folks and give you some opportunities. We've we've made a lot of a lot of good connections, picked up some extra lease ground and made some hay deals. It's it's realistically been a great business opportunity for us. Aside from the professional development side, I was actually elected Latah County Board president in November of last year, got to go to the the leadership conference. And that was that was amazing. We met a ton of people, a ton of really good folks and and we're excited, really excited to just keep going on that and building those those opportunities, both both socially and professionally.
