This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Wednesday. With such a hot and dry summer, crops continue to be at the mercy of mother nature. Let’s go to Terry Roggensack with the CME Group how the weather could affect crop yields.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. closed the day up 2 ¾, to finish at 7-00 ¼. Dec. Corn was up 13 ½, to close at 565 ¾. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. were up 8, to settle at 660 ¼.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Unch, ranging from 8-00 to 8-50. Soft white wheat with Ordinary Protein for Sept. was Unch, ranging from 7-70 to 8-00. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein for Sept. were up 8, ranging from 7-70 ¼ to 7-95 ¼. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Sept. were dn 7 ¾, ranging from 10-16 to 10-31.

Live Cattle for Oct. were dn $.40, closing at 124.70. Aug Feeder cattle were dn $1.85, to finish the day at 155.52 ¼. Aug. Class III milk was dn $.38, to settle at 16.29.
