With today’s Fruit Grower Report, I’m Bob Larson. April is Walla Walla Valley Wine Month and, as we all navigate restrictions brought on by the pandemic, the wine folks in Walla Walla are ready to share their craft in 2021.

Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliances’ Shelby Pryor acknowledges the past year has been a challenge, but wine lovers have helped the industry endure …

PRYOR … “Wine consumers definitely stepped up and really supported Walla Walla Valley wineries which was amazing to see. So, we’re really excited this year, you know, to get to keep doing that, but also, you know, welcome people back in a, you know, more low-key way.”

And, Pryor says there’s a very easy way to keep up with all that’s happening this month …

PRYOR … “So, if you go to our web site, which is www.wallawallawine.com you can go to our events page and find the Walla Walla Valley Wine Month page which will list all the promotions for the month. It also links to our list of wineries. So, if you’re looking to taste you can make reservations or contact wineries there as well.”

But, there’s also a social media aspect to Walla Walla Valley Wine Month …

PRYOR … “Yes, absolutely! So, throughout the month of April, we’re going to be essentially just sharing a little bit more information about Walla Walla Valley Wine, really highlighting some of the members of our community. And then, of course, we’re encouraging people to share what Walla Walla Valley wine they’re enjoying as well.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on Walla Walla Valley Wine Month … and how wine lovers like you have helped make it all possible.
