Yesterday we learned that Chad Hood was kayak fishing for coho in Juneau Alaska when he inadvertently hooked a 25 pound halibut that he was not equipped to handle. We pick it up with him reeling in this oversized fish. “The halibut was too big for my net so I had to stab it with my Leatherman knife. The knife didn’t have a lock on it so it folded over onto my hand and put an inch and a half gash all the way to the bone. I threw a bunny cord around the fish and wrapped my shirt around my bleeding hand and paddled back to the boat launch and went to the ER.
