October is for turkeys. Chasing turkeys is as fun now as it is in the spring and you may get your Thanksgiving feast to boot. Bob Fulker paid 15 hundred bucks for the long box call in his hands, which is odd considering he built it himself. When a call wins the Grand National NWT F. Hunting called Competition, it's auctioned off. If the carmaker wants the call, it's understood that no one else bids in. This time, somebody didn't get the memo and Fulker really wanted his call back. So he bought it. But I digress. Here's Colin Kearns, editor in chief of Field and Stream, talking about October turkey hunting.

Everyone, when it comes to turkey hunting, we all mostly associate it with the spring season because that's where the turkeys are at their super excited and they respond to calls. And it's such a fun time of year to hunt turkeys. But fall will be just as much fun defaults or theseason to be just as much fun as the spring because there are still a ton of birds out there. They work really well. They do respond to calls. It's just a nice time to be outside in the turkey woods. In this story, we're he shares a really nice story about an actual hunt he took years ago and he'd just had a great hunt and he wound up killing a nice gobbler that wound up being the centerpiece of their Thanksgiving supper. A month later. So it's a great time to go turkey hunting. And if you're lucky, oh, you can come home with Thanksgiving bird cranberry sauce on the side. Optional.
