This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for Monday, Aug 15th. Let's go to Nicole Davila as she goes over this week's National Slaughter cattle review with the USDA.

"For the morning National Cattle Slaughter review for Thursday. On Thursday negotiated cash trading has been at a standstill in the Southern Plains and Colorado. In Nebraska and the Western Corn Belt, negotiated cash trading has been limited on a very light demand, not enough sales for a market trend. Last week lives sales in the Texas Panhandle sold at $1.18. In Kansas live sales sold from $1.18 to $1.19. In the Northern plains live sales sold at $1.20 and dress sales in Nebraska sold from $1.87 to $1.88."

Chicago Sept. Wheat prices closed the week up 6 ¼, at 422. Sept. corn ended Friday up 1 ¼, at 323. Portland prices for soft white wheat of Ordinary Protein for Aug. ended the week up 3 ¾ to Unch, ranging from 4-86 ¼ to 4-95. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for Aug. were up 4, ranging from 4-96 ¼ to 5-26 ¼. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Aug. were up 10 ¼, ranging from 5-98 ¾ to 6-13 ¾. Aug Live Cattle were up 30 cents, to finish the week at 116.40. Aug Feeder cattle were up 35 cents, to close the day at 149.05. Aug. class III milk was unch at 16-97.
