With the Fruit Grower Report, I'm Susan Allen. Testing equipment to determine tree fruit maturity. I know many growers have questions, I had a chance to speak with WSU Extension tree fruit specialist Tianna Dupont who reminded me to make sure growers look for the latest WSU Tree Fruit Newsletter that came out Monday, specifically because it has a series on understanding the latest technology for testing tree fruit maturity. Here's Tianna:

Dupont: So there's three or four different new machines like little testing equipment that's available so growers have been asking a lot of question about which ones they should use and how to use them and so we want to make sure they have the latest information on this technology.

Tianna said there are other important items in this newsletter that growers should be aware of.

Dupont: Water Sampling as the new food safety regulations are coming into effect we are also going to give folks some information about changes in the worker protection standards.

The newsletter is published every other Monday from the epicenter of the primary fruit-producing region in the world, Wenatchee Washington. And it contains a wealth of knowledge for growers. If you are not receiving the WSU Tree Fruit Newsletter news letter simply sign up at treefruit.wsu.edu.
