Sen. Hartog
For the past month or so when I walked into my office which is in the Idaho Farm Bureau building, there were these license plates that were single digit meaning of bigwig was in our parking lot. Of course, our building is right next to the Statehouse and the Legislature was in session. in Idaho, it goes without saying that every legislative session has lots of talk about agriculture. Well, one of those legislators was recognized. I talked with Jake Putnam of the Idaho Farm Bureau.Senator Lori Den Hartog, a Republican Legislator from Meridian representing District 22, has received the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation's (IFBF) prestigious "Friend of Agriculture" award.
IFBF President Bryan Searle stated "The Idaho Farm Bureau is pleased to announce that Senator Den Hartog scored 93 percent in voting on selected bills that were important to agriculture and our members over the past two legislative sessions. She has proven to be a great supporter of agriculture and we appreciate her dedication to protecting private property rights and keeping taxes low while she has been in the legislature." Every two years IFBF reviews the votes legislators cast on selected bills that are important to its membership. These bills are used to determine which legislators will receive the IFBF "Friend of Agriculture" award. This year five Idaho senators and thirty-seven representatives will receive the coveted award.
With over 74,000 Idaho families as members, the Farm Bureau is the largest general farm organization in Idaho. It is a voluntary, grassroots, dues-financed organization dedicated to strengthening agriculture and protecting the rights, values and property of our member families and their neighbors.
