Something absolutely crazy. Some time ago I was at a Sportsmen's tradeshow and ran into a very nice young lady. We ended up doing a story on the deep-sea fishing charter operation she represented out ofDepot Bay Oregon named Tradewinds Charter Inc. Here is part of the phone call I made to her. "I do recommend that you start off with a bottom fishing trip, especially with children, is just a good trip for beginners to learn how to fish out in the ocean.  And why would that be? 1st of all its light tackle and you don't have to have a lot of experience getting fish on the boat. You can catch a variety of different fish and the fishing is always really good when you are bottom fishing." Well doesn't all of that sounds perfect? Then I picked up the paper the other day and read this Timothy Harman 67; Julie Harmon 52; and their 24-year-old daughter Eva Harmon, pleaded guilty to violation of a wildlife law, and their business, Tradewinds Charter Inc., pleaded guilty to racketeering in Oregon. They are accused of selling almost 2700 fishing licenses for $16.75 each and keeping the money instead of purchasing the licenses from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. They have been ordered to pay restitution of over $125,000. Apparently no damage was done to their clients and I'm glad of that. Man, you just never know. Again, I got all of my facts from the paper.
