Got a notice or from Ron Abramovich from NRCS saying that he was heading up to Mores Creek Summit to measure the snowpack in the high country. "Basically what we measured at Mores Creek was the snowpack which is slightly above average for March 1. That is pretty much true across most of Boise basin where the snow is 108% along with Weiser which is 106% and the Payette is also 108%. Right now it is good news, we are just a little above average but we need more storms for the month of March. Why do you say that? The high elevation snow is not melting at but we did the mid-elevation, around 5500 feet, lost 1 1/2 inches of snow water during the month of February. So the low snow is coming off but the high snow is not yet. But because February precipitation across southern Idaho was below average, we lost anywhere from 10 to 20 percentage points in terms of snowpack being above average or well above average.
