Farm Talks

Farm Talks. I'm Greg Martin with Washington Ag Today.

WSU Snohomish is presenting four farm talks to help farmers understand and deal with a number of issues. Kate Halstead with WSU Snohomish explains this is a Farm Talk, not a Farm Walk.

HALSTEAD: We are going to be talking about farming and talking with farmers and on behalf of farmers and trying to help them identify the challenges they are facing and how they can figure them out and meet those challenges and be successful.

One of the topics to be discussed will be managing water resources.

HALSTEAD: We're going to start out with a real informal Q&A panel discussion with a bunch of different folks entitled, Farming is a Risky Business and they will be covering everything from the legal and financial sides of things to just the more standard kinds of risk management kinds of things folks run into that they need to deal with. We'll devote another evening to Selling What You Grow and then our last evening we're calling No Fear Farm Financial Management.

The Farm Talks are open to all farmers.

HALSTEAD: We all face the same things to varying degrees when you're farming and everybody's got one or two challenges or more on their farm and hopefully that from one or more of these evenings we can help some of these folks address those challenges, give them some tools to go forward and be successful with.

And that's Washington Ag Today. I'm Greg Martin, thanks for listening on the Ag Information Network of the West.
