USPB's Cooking Demonstrations at Potato Expo

During the recent Potato Expo, the United States Potato Board’s Chef Consultant Chef Garrett Berdan demoed cooking techniques showcasing menu items available to school food service directors through the USPB website dedicated to school nutrition professionals — potatoesraisethebar.com USPB Marketing Program Director Kim Breshears shares more details
Breshears: “Chef Garrett is a registered dietician and nutritionist as well as a trained chef, specializing in K-12 schools. So he really understands the opportunities and challenges that schools are facing today to meet the new dietary guidelines. So he is partnering with us to make sure that potatoes have a place in schools — whether that is on the line or in the salad bar. At the Potato Expo he had the opportunity to showcase two different potato-friendly school recipes that we have created at the Potato Board that we are sharing with schools around the country — one was Game Day Potato Salad and the other was Potato Wedge Nachos.”
The response from the crowd watching the demonstration was very positive and even more so when they had the opportunity to sample the menu items.
