NRCS conservation efforts to benefit sportsmen. David Sparks, sportsman's spotlight with The USDA's NRCS announced funding available to crop producers for the purposes of increasing wildlife habitat. Spokesperson Tracy Robillard. "This is going to be great for a variety of salmon including steelhead, Chinook, Coho and sockeye. Some of those are federally listed salmon so this is a great project. Tracy it seems that the NRCS being a national agency is getting more involved in saving wildlands and wildlife on a national basis. Yes. NRCS does a lot for wildlife habitat nationwide. In Oregon we have many initiatives throughout the state for wildlife habitat conservation. That ranges everything from sage grouse to butterflies. A really important part of habitat conservation is what you can do to benefit a species and you are also benefiting many other things in the ecosystem."
