Choice of shotgun. Neither of my kids are interested in hunting but for those of you who have little sportsmen who want tagalong and participate in a duck or goose hunt with you, I called Sportsmen's Warehouse Sales Associate Randy Rust for a recommendation in terms of outfitting your younger one with a shotgun. "Generally the upper end Browns, your Bernelli's and your Beretta's. I'm not a bird hunter myself I am more into deer hunting. Can't speak to the specifics about a lot of the features of the shotguns but your Bernelli's are very popular. Your Super Black Eagles and for your semi-autos, Beretta's. They are very desirable. What about gauge? 12 gauge. The recoil isn't too much for a kid? A lot of the upper end models have recoil systems. They have come a long way with technologies to where you don't feel the recoil as much. You have absorbing factors in the butt of the gun as well as the shock absorbing plate on the end.

Just an editorial note on my part. Nothing I hate more than a BS'er. I asked Randy his thoughts and he was square with me that he was not an expert in bird hunting. That said, he gave me his thoughts and told me the bird hunting expert would be in tomorrow if I needed more help. Good guy.
