Bourbs in Alaska

I went to visit my son, took the week off so we fished. Went down to the river, found a good spot, waded out with our waders, started casting and low and behold, the Silvers were coming up and we started getting into them. It was a lot of fun. You just hang in there and fish. I used to fly rod with little orange yarn and a bead and a hook and I was catching fish but it is so hard to bring them in without breaking them off. So I switched to a level line bait caster. That's the best thing to use. You just cast into the current, drift on the bottom and wait for a strike. You have to feel them. When they hit they are on and they fight like crazy. You just bring them to shore, knock them on the head, nothing romantic about it, but it's pretty cool stuff. My son has a dog which is a pitbull named Zeus and he loves to fish. When you catch of fish, even though the fish doesn't jump, he knows you got a fish and he starts shaking, jumps in the water, swims around in circles and when he gets out he's just shaking and moaning.
