Agritourism is basically where agriculture and tourism intersect, as farms and ranches invite the public onto their property to experience the out of doors, the leisure pace, and the healthy and nutritious produce that is only possible when it is fresh picked at the peak of perfection. Good friend and regular contributor to the show, Chris Claunch discusses agri-tourism in Hagerman, Idaho. “Interestingly enough, agri-tourism is huge and the people of Hagerman are not quite aware of that ability to capitalize on the agri-tourism opportunity in the Hagerman Valley. People do want to pay to milk goats and live on a farm for a week and then go home”.

Agritourism, one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry, includes visits to working farms, ranches, wineries and agricultural industries. Agri-destinations offer a huge variety of entertainment, education, relaxation, outdoor adventures, shopping and dining experiences. “Currently, the snake River Grill serves sturgeon which is grown here, alligator that is grown in the Hagerman Valley. Also catfish and other local fare such as goose and duck and the chef there is an avid hunter with triplet sons.
