Ensuring campers and backpackers are fit for their next outing, Carnivore Club has handcrafted, cured meats to send with them on their trips and to share with others while out on the trail. Tim Ray is the founder and CEO, calls himself Chief Meat Eater. Asked him how he got started: "I sold an e-commerce venture and started looking for something I could have a lot of fun with, create a bit of a cult following, men and meat are a perfect match and we could have a lot of fun with marketing. We created a couple of cool videos and launched the company. What kinds of meat do you package up? Every month we partner with a producer or artisan of cured meats. It is always cured and smoked meats. In the winter we like to do salami's and prosciutto's. In the summer we like to do a lot of jerky, summer sausage, things that are durable and shelf stable, portable snacks that you could take with you for outdoors types of activities. It would seem to me that this is the perfect gift for a hunter or angler. Yes if you are used to drive curing your leg of venison and grinding it up, this would be the next best thing. But if you're a lousy hunter, this is the best. (Laughter).
