If you are not in shape, then don't even think about going out into the woods in search of your next trophy. Good friend and regular contributor to the show, Randy King is an executive chef with the Simplot Corporation and probably has fallen victim to his own craft. A taste here, a taste there results in a pound here and a pound there. "You just have to be in shape. The big-game hunters that I talked to all say that if they are not prepared shape wise than they simply cannot effectively do their job as a hunter. One of my worst stories on that front and why I started getting into shape is the fact that two years ago I actually wounded a deer on day one of the season. I found him on day five and I ran to him as fast as I could and we are standing there staring at each other in a sagebrush flat and I shot at him four times and couldn't hit him because I was so winded that I could not keep the gun scope on him. It was one of those things that really taught me a lesson that I could not effectively finish my job as a hunter because I was so out of shape. That put the onus on me to finish up. We saw the deer running around the next year, his limp was gone but you still feel bad about giving it to him.
