Wheat Led Grains Higher on Monday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for June 9, 2015.
Wheat led the other grains higher on Monday. From the floor of the CME Group, Jack Scoville shares his observation of Monday’s market.
Scoville: “Grains traded higher all day. Lead higher by wheat markets which is starting to hear some reports of scab damage in the Hard Red Winter areas. Perhaps some disease also in the soft Red Winter areas in the Mid-West. Really just too much rain affected crops in both areas. Everybody knows about the floods in Texas, Oklahoma and up into Kansas but there has been quite a lot of rain in the Southern Mid-West as well and that has created some potential for some disease and that has supported the wheat markets here all day.”
Chicago July Wheat ended Monday up 11 cents at 5-28. July corn ended the day up 4 and 3/4 cents at 3-65 and 1/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were up 1 to 7 and 1/2 cents for August delivery of new crop ranging between 5-85 and 6-29. White Club wheat of ordinary protein had no price comparisons. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 9 and 1/4 cents at mostly 6-40 and 1/2. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were mixed down 11 to up 9 cents at mostly 7-68 and 1/2.
August live cattle were up $1.02 and a half on Monday at 151.60. August Feeder cattle were up 95 cents at 222.85. July class III milk was up 23 cents at 17-14.
