Grains Lower Across the Board Wednesday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for January 8, 2015.
With not much bullish news, the grain markets ended the day lower across the board. From the floor of the CME Group, Todd Horwitz shares his observations of Wednesday’s markets.
Horwitz: “Wednesday’s grain markets, a little bit lower across the board but we are really just chopping and churning — waiting to hear what the latest reports to come out. Waiting to figure out what is going to happen next. But I think what of the things we are looking at here is markets that want now to go higher — you know for a while they only wanting to go lower - now they want to go higher. Wheat looks to still be at the $5.70 to $5.80 level. As we saw wheat under pressure today down about 9 cents.”
Chicago March Wheat ended Wednesday down 12 and 1/4 cents at 5-79 and 1/2. March corn ended the day down 8 and 3/4 cents at 3-96 and 1/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were steady to down 12 and 1/4 to cents at mostly 6-68 and 1/2. White club wheat of ordinary protein prices were steady to down 12 and 1/4 cents at mostly 9-36 and 1/2. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 11 and 1/4 cents at mostly 7-08. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 9 and 3/4 cents at mostly 8-60 and 3/4.
February live cattle were down 12 and half cents on Wednesday at 165-90. March Feeder cattle were down 55 cents at 220-32 and half. February class III milk was was up 24 cents at 14-94.
