Brown's on the Owyhee River. 17-year-old Zach Parker and his dad took a nice little trip not long ago to the Owyhee River. They were looking for brown trout and succeeded. When you hear Zach talk it becomes pretty clear he knows what he's doing. "We killed it. We got 15 or 20 brown trout in two days of fishing. My dad and I left on a Sunday morning early, just got into the car and drove up to the river, found different holes that looked good, we were using size 18

PMD's on top and then we used nymphs and indicators, we used nymphs and streamers, we used just streamers. We did it all. Most of the fish were on the PMD's between 8 and 10 AM. The PMD's were kind of coming off, there was a hatch. They were feeding on top so we just went for the rising fish. Just went right above them and they would take it. Then towards the middle of the day when the fish weren't feeding on top, my dad nymphed and caught a few and I threw some streamers in the deeper holes. There was one hole that was pretty deep, 6 feet maybe, and I just threw an indicator on with a streamer below it which really isn't very common, no one really does that but I just tried it and picked up three fish. It was a really fun two days. There were a lot of fish and not many people.
