Wheat Markets Up On Friday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for June 30, 2014.

This afternoon brings the release of USDA stocks and acreage report. USDA Grain and livestock Reporter Greg Sanders gives an update on the region’s cattle markets.
Sanders: “On the direct cattle this week we had 4,000 head trade in the country 850 weight steers brought $196 for current delivery FOB. For fall delivery, the 650 weight steer calves brought $210-$225 for October-November delivery. Heifers weighing between 600 and 650 pounds for October to November delivery bought $2.00 to $2.18. Slaughter cows were $5 to $12 higher.”Chicago September Wheat ended Friday up 9 cents at 5-93 and 3/4. September corn ended the day up 3 and 1/4 cents at 4-42 and 1/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were mixed down 3 to up 7 and 1/4 cents at mostly 6-92 and 3/4. White club wheat prices were unchanged to up 3 cents at mostly 7-35 and 1/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were no price comparisons. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 8 and 3/4 to 66 and 3/4 cents at mostly 8-67 and 1/2.
August live cattle were down $1.62 and half on Friday at 151-12 and half. August Feeder cattle down 80 cents at 214-32 and half. August class III milk was down 44 cents at 21-30.
