Bee Swarms

I had a great chat with Chad Dickinson from the Treasure Valley Beekeepers Club: "We are trying to encourage people when they find a swarm or a clump of bees in a tree or off of their house somewhere, that they go to the treasure Valley Bee club website: www.idabees.org and there is a swarms button, click on that button and it takes you to a map, you can assume in on the map and find out where the beekeepers in your area are. Call one of those beekeepers and they will be extremely excited to come and catch a swarm so that they can put it into a hive, they will come to your house and remove the bees as much as they can and take them from your house and put them into a hive. We are trying to get people not to spray them with wasp killer because they are bothering them. Once you have sprayed them with wasp killer or any insect spray, no one is going to want to come and get the bees from you. You will have done damage to the swarm that is looking for a place to live. They are the most docile when they are swarming. They are just trying to hang out someplace while they are sending scout bees out to find a new place to live.
