Help for livestock producers who are experiencing serious economic hardship. I received an email from Candy Moore Communications/Outreach Coordinator for the?USDA Farm Service Agency. It said, Please consider issuing the attached public service announcement for livestock producers in Idaho. Both written and pre-recorded versions are included. so as a public service, I will let you listen to Juan Garcia.

I’M JUAN GARCIA, ADMINISTRATOR OF USDA’S FARM SERVICE AGENCY said. “We know disasters -- droughts, storms, fires and unexpected freezes HAve caused serious economic hardships for our livestock producers. Thanks to the new Farm Bill, FSA is now able to offer Livestock disaster assistance to help ranchers. inform.ation on new program requirements and signups will be provided as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, please document your losses and work closely with staff at your local usda service center” . to learn more about FSA programs, visit US online at www.fsa.usda.gov

I called Candy in order to learn a little more. What it is saying is that with the new farm bill being implemented going back to 2011 if there have been disasters they will be able to file prior to on or beginning April 15 for disaster assistance.
