Chatted with Doug Brammer at Sportsman's Warehouse about shotgun choices for upland birds."You're 12's can be used for everything. So can a 20 depending on how good a shot you are. Generally 12's are the most popular. Guys will switch to a 20 gauge on the smaller stuff like chucker, Quail, Dove but normally 12 does just about everything else. Using a 20 versus a 12, the first thing that comes to my mind is chucker hunting with all of the climbing up and down the cliffs. 20 is much lighter. That is why a lot of guys favored the 24 smaller upland. 20 gauges can a be about a pound and a half lighter for any given gun."
