Rural Jobs

Rural Jobs. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Line On Agriculture.

In his State of the Union Address - President Barack Obama laid out a plan to make America a magnet for jobs for future generations - while strengthening the middle class. In the wealthiest nation on the earth - the President stresses the importance of building ladders of opportunity to ensure those who work hard and play by the rules have a chance to get a head. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says these values are shared by many across Rural America.

VILSACK: Our farmers, ranchers, rural business and families are committed to the value of hard work. They agree we owe todays young people an opportunity to get ahead. And they know that we must continue our efforts to address rural poverty. The President’s first priority is to make America a magnet for jobs and when it comes to job creation there’s not place than rural America. Our farmers and ranchers support 1 in 12 American jobs today with unlimited potential in the years ahead.

That’s today’s Line On Agriculture. I’m Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
