WCA Bull Test Sale Update

WCA All Breed Bull Test Update

I’m KayDee Gilkey with today’s Open Range.

Next spring the Washington Cattlemen’s Association will hold its 20th annual bull test sale. WCA Executive Vice President Jack Field shares more details about the 2013 WCA’s offering of bulls.

Field: “We just did our 40 day-weights. And the bull look like they are doing exceptionally well. We’ve got a number of bulls that are gaining at that 4 to 5 pounds range. They’re just now getting acclimated and really off and running on feed. We’ve had a good response to our processing and preventative measures that we’ve taken throughout the test, so we’ve had very little sickness. We should have a great offering. We have over 50 different consigners from three states represented. We will have bulls will meet anybody’s needs whether it be a growth or birth weight Angus bull, growth or birth Hereford -- either horned or polled. Great selection of Red Angus, and Chi-Angus, Sim-Angus and Simmental bulls. So very excited to see what we have to offer. I think the quality of this year’s test is better than what we’ve had in the past so we’re going to have a better product to put forward. Something that will hopefully work for just about every operation out there.”

Mark your calendar: The sale will be held in Eltopia,Wash. at the Bonina Sale facility on March 27th.
