 Burdensome Ag Regulations Issue Worldwide

Allan Savory, one of the founders of the Savory Institute and who 40 plus years ago began healing the land with holistic planned grazing, travels around the world teaching this method of planned grazing.

He speaks regularly with farmers and ranchers from many different countries but Savory does see similarities in some of the issues farmers and ranchers face, regardless of which country they operate in.

Savory: “A lot of people wonder why when we have so much knowledge available from the science and in the heads of people in agriculture -- organic and mainstream agriculture--Why is agriculture continuing to produce more eroding soil than food? The answer basically, I was recently in Germany at a big conference listening to farmers and what were the barriers to intelligent and scientifically sound agriculture. None of the barriers are natural -- they are not weather or diseases or anything else. All of the barriers that I heard were manmade and were due to faulty government policies, laws and regulations. And that is literally killing us. There is a simple way through that using that same framework that can deal with complexity and somehow we’ve got to get that into the international consciousness.”
