Susan Weller, United States Potato Boards’s International Marketing Manager of the Frozen Program, shares more about the USPB’s sponsored Why Buy U.S. Potatoes research.

Weller: “In the last marketing year and a half, we have been working on Why Buy US research -- which is basically trying to compare the quality with U.S. product with our competitors. We tested product at a laboratory in the U.S. So we are taking this information that basically does prove that U.S. extra long fancy fries are of a higher quality than those from the competitors.”

Weller shares the response she received at her first Why Buy U.S. Potatoes Research seminar she gave recently in the Philippines.

Weller: “They were very excited about the research basically said, ‘yes,yes,yes.’ We’ve always knew that, we just needed someone to do the research to prove about the quality.’ So it definitely resonated with the importers and distributers and they will in turn be able to sell more product using this high quality messaging.”
