More than 3,000 trainings in 13 countries in the last year ensures that U.S. frozen fries are handled properly and cooked to perfection for end-customers.

Susan Weller, Frozen Program International Marketing Manager for the United States Potato Board, explains it’s important to teach on-site workers who actually handle and cook the fries. Weller shares more of what the training entails.

Weller: “We also teach them about oil temperature and oil cleaning. All those things are very important. Even then something simple like shaking the salt over the fryer which can damage the oil and that costs them money. We are trying to help them not only make the perfect fries so their customers come back but to save them money.”

Weller encourages any potato producers planning to attend the U.S. Potato Board’s Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs March 16th to learn more about research results for the international frozen program.

Weller: “We are going to be giving for the first time, Why Buy U.S. Fries demo which basically demonstrates why U.S.fries are the best product for food service importers and distributors to purchase in the foreign markets.”
