EQIP funding cutoff date delayed

EQIP funding cutoff date delayed

Washington Ag Today August 18, 2011 Agricultural producers, including private forest landowners, have more time to apply for financial and technical assistance through Washington’s most popular conservation program, the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, or EQIP.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service says in previous years the sign up deadline for general EQIP funding was has been August 15th but that’s been delayed this year because NRCS is taking a new regional approach to the development of the EQIP payment schedule. Once that is complete a cutoff date will be announced. Application cutoff dates for additional NRCS programs will also be announced at a later date and that includes the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program, the Wetland Reserve and the Conservation Stewardship Program.

Now this from Stockland Livestock.

This is Jack McQuinness here at Stockland Livestock in Davenport. On Monday 550 cattle on the market. Cows and bulls a couple of dollars lower. Still a good active. Had some great fed cows from Montana topping out at 82 cents. Most of the cow trade mid to high 60s, low 70s. Looking to next week we will have two sales. We have the regular cattle sale on Monday. A small animal sale on Tuesday and we are expecting a good run. We have over 400 lambs, lamb pool in this area. Special feeder sale on the 29th. No sale on Labor Day, September 5th, and we will be back in business after that on our regular schedule.

Thanks Jack.
